Radio Microphone

7 Dirty Words of Radio:

No, we're not talking about George Carlin's well
documented list of vulgarities here. We're talking about the
most common comment I hear from business people about
radio:

"I tried radio once, it didn't work."

Too often business people feel burned because they have
bought "packages" from their favorite radio station, thinking they would work magic, only to be sadly disappointed when the bill came, and nothing had happened.

Effective radio advertising is an art form. Give me a chisel, hammer and block of marble and I can hack away at it and come up with something, but it wouldn't be considered art. Likewise, an inexperienced or untrained salesperson or buyer, can sell or buy a radio schedule, but it doesn't mean it's going to work. Not if they don't know what they're doing.

After spending almost 20 years in the radio business, and working with hundreds of businesses to use radio to get results, I started First Person Radio because I saw a need to show businesses how to use this powerful medium in a way that getting response from their radio ads is the norm, not just a surprise.
